Candidates Forum
Municipal election season is here, and two local volunteer organizations are offering a new candidate’s forum with a fresh approach to getting to know your local candidates. On October 7th, 7:00pm, at the Southeast Event Centre, the South East Equity Coalition and Strong Towns Steinbach are co-sponsoring a forum that prioritizes conversations on topics that Steinbach residents want to discuss.
The two-hour event is open to the public and will have two parts.
The first hour will offer four conversation circles where residents can discuss a range of issues in four general areas: Housing & Development, Transportation & Mobility, Quality of Life Indicators, Health & Wellbeing. Each circle will have a facilitator to help keep conversation flowing and to ensure that mutual kindness and respect are maintained.
During the second hour the candidates will be introduced and have an opportunity to engage with the issues that were discussed in the conversation circles. A moderator will ensure that each candidate has equal opportunity to speak.
The event will take place in the Southeast Event Centre’s second floor conference rooms.
